Biography

Professor Xue-Feng Liu is an assistant dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the director of the Materials Processing and Control Engineering Department. He is in charge of or participates in more than 60 vertical and crosswise projects, including the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), the State High-Tech Development Plan (863 Program), Key Projects in the National Science & Technology Pillar Program, Major Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and so on. Fifteen of his patents have been transferred to enterprises. Several high performance materials that his group developed have been used in key projects of national economy and national defense industries, including “Chang'e Project”, “Beidou satellite”, high-speed railway, and so on. He has received several Chinese government awards for his contributions.


Research Interests

He focuses on developing new technologies of high efficient and compact processing of high performance and hard-to-deform materials. He puts forward a new academic thought of processing materials with integrated control on their microstructures, properties, shapes and sizes. Currently, his main research fields are as follows:
