Dr. Shuhai Chen is the Assoc. Prof. of Materials Science and Engineering School at USTB. He holds a B.S, a M.S and Ph.D.  in 2003, 2005 and 2009 from Haerbin Institute of Technology, respectively. He was visiting scholar at The Ohio state University in 2012.11-2013.5.

Research Interests

1.  Laser joining technologies for dissimilar materials, such as laser welding-brazing, laser additive welding, laser-arc hybrid welding and etc;

2.  Metallurgy of joining interface, such as regulation of interfacial reaction, interface mechanical in joining for dissimilar materials and etc; 

3.  Collision welding technologies, such as electromagnetic pulse welding, vaporizing foil actuator welding and etc.
